Making time and having Mr. Pang compliment my presentation.

(2) Questions to Consider

a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your block presentation?  Use the component contract to defend that assessment.

P

I met the minimum requirements that were needed for the presentation.
b.     What assessment would you give yourself on your overall senior project?
Use the component contract to defend that assessment.
AP

I did miss the Interview due to a corrupted data file I explained and showed to Mrs. Ortega, but besides that my blog and research were up to par.
(3) What worked for you in your senior project?

The fact I was able to buy a company for first hand experience.
(4) (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your senior project?

Have less research articles because many got repetitive after around 36.
(5) Finding Value

How has the senior project been helpful to you in your future endeavors?   Be specific and use examples.

The senior project itself didn't help much for my future as I would have continued AVY and learned this whether or not this project occurred.

Exit Interview

(1) What is your essential question, and what are your answers?  What is your best answer and why?
How can a youth sports organizer encourage players to return year after year?
Through encouraging coaches players will come back to play sports is my best answer since coaches hold the greatest psychological effects over the players and can make or break a child's experience in sports.
Through competitive pricing with breaks for parents can bring kids back to play sports is my second answer and this is followed by A youth sports organizer can encourage players to return year after year by incorporating smart small business management techniques to keep the business afloat and available for players to play for my third answer.

(2) What process did you take to arrive at this answer?
I arrived at my best answer through experience working in AVY Flag Football and in San Dimas Little League baseball, as well as going into my research I have found most sources comment that coaches often attribute them to where 70% of all players leave sports before turning 13.

(3) What problems did you face?  How did you resolve them?
I faced a problem of research soon becoming repetitive as there isn't much research put into this subject. Often time youth sports are over looked in their importance in child development so I was forced to reply a lot on experience through mentorship and talking to others involved in youth sports organizations.

(4) What are the two most significant sources you used to answer your essential question and why?

DiFiori, John P., Holly J. Benjamin, Joel Brenner, Andrew Gregory, Neeru Jayanthi, Greg L. Landry, and Anthony Luke. "Overuse Injuries and Burnout in Youth Sports: A Position Statement from the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine." American Medical Society for Sports Medicine 24.1 (2014): 1-20.

"Our Story." Positive Coaching Alliance. Positive Coaching Alliance, n.d. Web. 8 Oct. 2015.

are the MLA formats of the two sources I have used the most in my project and they lead the way of where I wanted to go with my topic. The Positive Coaching Alliance and American Society for Sports Medicine both address the main concerns facing players today and explain how these are coming to be.

It is there
What I completed is the 2016 I-Poly HS Powder Puff. Not only did I coach the Senior team, but designed the field for play, where the spectators sat, picked the referees and the announcer, and helped put together the outside of the football game concessions and activities.
The component gave me a look into running an older youth game and having to provide a fun experience for a few hundred visitors. In my past IC it was catered mostly to the business side of the running the league but with this IC I got to test out coaching techniques to see which worked the best as well as the designing of the event as a whole.

The component helped reenforce my top answer to my EQ being that coaches ultimently are the deciding factor in have youth sports players return to play again as the girls have been encouraged to play the sports for senior class competitions more so than before Powder Puff as well as I have been asked to help the the next years Juniors team as they want Powder Puff to return to the school.

Blog 18: Answer 2

1.  What is your EQ?
How can a youth sports organizer encourage players to return year after year?

2.  What is your first answer? (In complete thesis statement format)
Through encouraging coaches players will come back to play sports.
3.  What is your second answer? (In complete thesis statement format)
Through competitive pricing with breaks for parents can bring kids back to play sports.
4.  List three reasons your answer is true with a real-world application for each.
Competitive pricing makes parents more likely to spend money in the league as it is cheaper than others. Lower pricing makes it easier for parents to purchase extra equipment for players and keeps them in uniform which has been proven to make players enjoy the sport more as they feel apart of the team. Also price breaks make siblings more likely to continue to play since it would be cheaper for them to play this way.
5.  What printed source best supports your answer?
     Forbes magazine
6.  What other source supports your answer?
     University of Michigan
7.  Tie this together with a concluding thought.
Youth sports is an extremely over-priced area of the economy and by fixing this, more parents will be more inclined to bring their players back year after year.

Blog 17 - Interview 3 Reflection

1. What is the most important thing I learned from the interview?
The most important thing I've learned from this interview is how much pricing goes into whether or not parents will put their kids into sports leagues.

2.  How has your approach to interviewing changed over the course of your senior project?
Not a whole lot has changed, the main thing would be I have less questions prepared and more just ask what comes to mind based off what the other person is saying so it makes me listen more rather than thinking about what I will say next.

Blog 13: 10 Hour Mentorship Check-In

1.   Where are you doing your mentorship?
AVY Flag Football

2.   Who is your contact?  What makes this person an expert?

My mentor and I have put on 2 flag football seasons for youths. Blog 12: Holiday Project Update Due

1.  It is important to consistently work on your senior project, whether it is break or we are in school.  What did you do over the break with your senior project?
-Over the break I planned out the Winter 2016 season of AVY Flag Football. This included setting up registration, meetings with vendors and possible advertisers, and equipment checks. Also had contract meetings with the City of San Dimas Parks and Rec. through out break.

2.  What was the most important thing you learned from what you did, and why?  What was the source of what you learned?

-I learned that if you want something done to nag until it is completed. My source of this was the miscommunication with the city as one of the employees went home early being sick and I was e-mailing them asking for paper work, but since they weren't in the office and I only e-mailed this wasn't figured out until I called them at home the next day.

3.  Your third interview will be a 10 question interview related to possible answers for your EQ. Who do you plan to talk to and why?

-I plan on interviewing the President of San Dimas Little League. I plan to interview him because Little League brings in over a hundred kids to play each season and is a nationally know youth sport organization.
